Drop It Like It's Hot

World Art Drop Day is an all-day event held on the first Tuesday of September.  I've secretly loved the idea for some time, but this is the first year in which I feel that I may have work good enough to contribute.  (I may have already had work that was plenty good to give away for a smile, but the process of coming to believe that to be the case is... well...  Let's just agree that it's a long process.)

My son had already been encouraging me to make mushrooms and mushroom people that could blend in with the environment.  We had planned to do this as a photo shoot and as a fun little way to see how people responded to my work in the wild, but it occurs to me that it will be ideal for World Art Drop Day.

I anticipate doing at least two mushroom/ mushroom people sculptures, a pair of earrings, some polymer clay flowers, and maybe something in the neighborhood of an artist trading card.  I will post photos of the work that I'm "dropping" on this website, on my artist facebook page, and at the facebook page for the Racine Arts Council.  If you're in the Kenosha or Racine areas, you may just find some of my art on September 4th.

In the meantime, get out there and make some art.  It's good enough.  Go do it.
